Not as advertised, but still not a bad deal Feb 05, 2009
By Gary J. Bulik Product claims 1000ma/hr. Refreshing & testing with a La Cross tester/charger, proved them to be in the neighborhood of 750ma/hr. Still with most "big brand name rechargeables claiming 800ma/hr and costing twice as much or more - not a bad deal. Assuming these units hold up over time I'd rate them OKAY to buy. I'd also note that on the first recharge/test they mostly came up with less than 500ma/hr, but came up to their higher ratings on subsequent recharges.
I really liked the added cases

Cheap and effective Dec 25, 2008

These are the Chevy Aveos of the battery world. They are cheap, plentiful, and they work fine as long as you don't expect miracles. We bought them for our Fisher-Price Kid's Digital Cameras. They can take a few dozen pictures and do a transfer or two before needing recharged. They charge fine in our Kodak wall chargers (we have two, take 4 at a time). I like the fact that the packaging includes little plastic cases that hold 4 batteries each. That way we don't have to have a ton of loose batteries running around. Charge a set, put it in the case, and put it up somewhere. Then they're ready to go when needed. Of course when this item ships, the batteries are in a bulk pack and the cases are taped to it. Took me about six minutes to get them all unwrapped and into the cases. Absolutely worth the money. We WILL be purchasing more of them now that we have more toys using AAA's nowadays (see my review of the Fisher-Price Bounce and Spin Pony).

Cheaper but cheaper Mar 20, 2010
By AK I purchased both Sanyo eneloop and Tenergy AA & AAA NiMh batteries. I did a capacity test on two sets of each type of battery on BC-700 charger/tester. The results are as follows:
Tenergy AA Capacity Battery 1 = 1137 Battery 2 = 1340 Eneloop AA Capacity Battery 1 = 1884 Battery 2 = 1907
Tenergy AAA Capacity Battery 1 = 747 Battery 2 = 752 Eneloop AAA Capacity Battery 1 = 782 Battery 2 = 795
Tenergy AAA batteries actual capacity is 75% (~750/1000 rated) of rated capacity Eneloop AAA batteries actual capacity is 99% (~790/800 rated) of rated capacity.
The Tenergy AA batteries actual capacity is only 43% (1127/2600 rated) of rated capacity The Eneloop AA are closer at 95% (~1900/2000 rated) of rated capacity.
Conclusion, spend a few more bucks and get the good (Eneloop) batteries.
** UPDATE 3/21/10 Tested another 4 Tenergy AA batteries, Battery 1 = 1228mah, Battery 2 = 1189mah, Battery 3 = 1193mah and Battery 4 = 1204mah. I'm not sure how they can call these 2600mah batteries.

Best bargain for the $$$$ Dec 17, 2008
By Bryan Stableford I use these in flashlights to light up our disc golf course for night play. They stay outside permanently. I have not had any of them malfunction.I live in Virginia and the first set is going on 2 years. I bought a backup set because people don't always turn off the lights when finished. I have bought "powerizer" rechargeables, and out of 12 four will not hold a charge. For the money these are great!!

My Favorite AAA NiMH Batteries Sep 19, 2009
By Mark Baum I used to use the Energizer NiMH batteries. It was when I was looking to see what NiMH batteries I can find on Amazon that I found these Tenergy 1000mAh batteries.
These are lower in price but hold a bigger charge than the Energizer batteries. It does take a few discharge/recharge cycles to condition them to fully get to their peak performance but once there they work perfectly.
One of the things I've found out that it also depends upon the charger to provide a proper discharge/recharge cycle to the batteries. I own a few chargers and found out that one of my first chargers didn't properly recharge my various NiMH batteries. But I've found that my AA/AAA Energizer recharger does a very good job at recharging.
So the capacity is there. However not all chargers are the same. The "Digital Concepts" (Sakar) chargers in my own use turned out to be the worst chargers overall. So if you're having problems with your new or recent batteries it may be due to the charger.
Anyway, this bulk set of AAA NiMH batteries is a great value. Plus they also come with separate and sturdy plastic battery cases to keep them organized in groups of four. Since these are meant to last for a couple years it helps that the cases keep the batteries organized into of rolling around loose within my pockets or camera bags.
