Best D size NiMH ever used! Nov 25, 2008
By Z. Tang
"zman"
I was in market for a nice D sized rechargeable and got so disappointed by those in target/walmart that marks 2500mAh, looks like all that energizer/duracell did was put a bigger shell outside a AA battery and sell for much more money. I got 4 of these Tenergy cells from a friend, and they are simply AMAZING!
Not only the capacity is so huge, but also I heard they are the new generation low-self-discharge, and after a few months use, I can testify that all these are TRUE!
One bad thing for me is that I do not have a good charger, my old D cell capable charger can only do 500mA, so it took a whole day and night for me to charge them, but I have never had to do the recharge often at all, it lasts so long that I feel like it is battery than those disposable duracells, although I have not done any precise measurement.
I believe my last set of duracell disposable lasted about a month or so in the baby swing set, and the tenergy lasts for well over a month in my impression, coz I only had to charge them twice so far within 4 months.
I know my AA NiMHs will dry out in 2 months even if I do not touch them, so the low self discharge seems really helped.
Combining all the facts - 10Ah huge capacity, low discharge, and rechargeable! I am sure these batteries are the best D cells I've ever used!

Expensive but well worth it Jan 18, 2009
By K. Mumma It seems that everything one buys for a newborn requires D batteries, but most rechargeables we saw were AAs in a D shell, giving very short charge life. Not these high capacity batteries. These were certainly not cheap, but we can go weeks without replacing batteries, even in the swing, which our son spent a few weeks sleeping in overnight due to his reflux.
We have been very happy with these and would highly recommend them.

best "D" cells in existence Oct 07, 2009
By adjective Over three years of near-continuous use with no failures. Don't be put off by the generic name; I've been using various sizes of Tenergy batteries for five years without any going bad.
If there is one shortcoming to these batteries--and I should stress that the problem lies not only with these in particular--is that the batteries' sleeves seem destined to fail long before the conductive paste inside them ceases to hold a useful charge.

35% Failure Rate Jul 21, 2011
By Richard P. Dudley I didn't buy these so I could throw them away after 2 or 3 uses. The batteries seem to work OK, but I've had a 15% failure rate after only 3 charging cycles. They advertise up to 1000 charging cycles. So, I contacted customer support to ask if the 15% failure rate was unusual and they never responded to my e-mail. 3 stars for the batteries, minus 1 for bad customer support. UPDATE: Four more batteries have failed in the past 2 recharging cycles so that's 7 out of 20 batteries that have failed in the first 6-7 charging cycles. That's $43.75 worth of batteries I've had to throw away.

Survived Blizzard of 2010 Feb 18, 2010
By Richard B. Morrow

I normally run the "Altec Lansing inMotion MIX iMT800 Portable Digital Boom Box for iPhone and iPod" from the wall outlet. However I was extreemly happy that I bought the bundle (charger, batteries, and boom box) from Amazon. When the power went out during the 2010 blizzard we continued to listen to our favorite west coast radio stations using the boombox and the iPhone. BTW two iPhones ran out of power and we were listening to an iPod when the power came back. The D cells never failed us.
