No name... do what they came to do! May 18, 2009

"Maddy, Eli & Joshy's Mom"
So these aren't Monster cables... as the price very much reflects that sentiment! Do they work... an emphatic YES! They are gold tipped as the picture shows and a nice gauge. At eight foot length they are the perfect length for moving your components around. Is it better to spend a few extra dollars and use these over the usual supplied RCA plugs? Again, yes!
They bring out the color and make the images a bit sharper. You will be able to see the differences if you do a side by side comparison. If you are the type of person that wants great, crisp and vivids colors then RCA plugs will not suffice. My husband is a Cable/Phone tech and gets to play around with different types of brands. He finds that these will foot the bill and are a great alternative to Monster cables which are overpriced because of their name.
Highly recommend, as well as their HDMI cables. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Cables To Go 98036 Premium Component Video Cable VS Gold Tips... Me likes! :-) May 10, 2009

"Expert Mom!"
After hooking these babies up to our top of the line 50" Panasonic Plasma I can tell you that in this case "Cables to Go Premium Component Video Cables" work just as well as my high price name brand Gold Tipped cables! My son is DEEP into video filming & editing & it seems as he is ALWAYS "NEEDING" another cable of some kind, so when I had the opportunity to snag this baby to do a quality comparison I jumped on it...................to ascertain IF in fact I had been wise in ALWAYS buying the higher priced cables in the past. Well maybe there is a difference in other low end brands in comparison to the "Gold Tips" but in this case no one could tell any difference! NADA!!! And the fact that they were being used on soch a big screen I think would hve amplified any distortion or quality issues, So when I need a spare cable(s) or replacement I will for sure be shopping for it in this bargain brand!! So if you are like me & want/need a quality cable feel confident in buying this one, at least in my cable I found it to be of the same quality as my Gold ones. If I have any issues down the road I will let you know, as I, like you, depend on these Amazon reviews to determine what will best suit my needs!

Upgrade your Cables! Apr 29, 2009
By Seanna I am an Electronics Technician and I specialize in Audio/Video so my advice is that you should always ensure that your electronic devices are connected together with good quality leads. Yes I realize a lot of electronics manufacturers throw in a cheap connector with most equipment so it is tempting to use that and save money but really what is the point in paying $1000's on a high standard DVD player, Video Game System or TV when you use poor quality cables to connect them? Believe me a good quality lead will make a difference and it is as important as the standard of the equipment that you decide to buy.
This component lead by `Cables to Go' is excellent quality for the price. The cable is very robust and the plugs are molded into the cable so there is little chance that it will break. The plugs are also gold plated which is important to ensure a good connection. Add-in that the leads are made from oxygen-free copper for good conductivity and shielded with aluminum foil to stop interference then you are guaranteed to get great results.
The plugs are color-coded so it is a simple process to replace that tired old lead you have on DVD player or game system.
I connected this between a progressive scan Sony DVD player and a Panasonic High Definition TV and it performs to an excellent standard especially considering the length of the cable which is 8 foot. I would say this is definitely good overall value.

Nice build quality - Premium cables. But HDMI is still the way to go. May 14, 2009
By Kiyo M. These are actually really nice for the price. I love the build quality on these, thick, and is neatly organized.
I do feel major brand cables like MONSTER are way overpriced, but I also have experienced cheap cables before where it doesn't send a consistent signal and can see lines streaking, especially during black backgrounds.
You'll need these if you want to carry HD signal, unless you have HDMI input/out. Personally, I prefer HDMI cable because of the convenience of having video/audio together on one neat cable, in addition to being true digital instead of going the analog-digital processing with component cables.
The main problem is, some HDTV's do NOT support full 1080p through component! The most you'll get is 1080i. I learned it the hard way. So you'll want to check your TV for that.
These cables have nice build quality, but it also performs just the same as those expensive overpriced cables. I would recommend these if you're stuck with only component inputs. So far Cables To Go has my trust, however.

Can't beat the price! Oct 05, 2010
By AmazonAddict I bought this component cable for use as a monitor out on my Pioneer home theater receiver to my 37" Olevia LCD TV. Everywhere in town wanted $20 and up for a component cable. I found this one on Amazon for less than $8 and decided to give it a try since it got pretty good reviews. The cable works great! The wire connectors fit nice and tight on the receiver and TV connectors. I have been using this component cable for about a year and a half now, an it has worked perfectly. The video looks just as clean as my Monster component cable does. Would highly recommend it to anyone that needs a component cable at a reasonable price.
