By Average Geek Got one, works great. Out of the box, will dump wireless X10 signals from the air straight onto the power line. Also blinks its LED twice each time it gets such a signal. Configuring it to convert X10 to Insteon is a little painful, but if you follow the instructions you should be all set. I was able to receive an X10 wireless signal from around 40ft away through walls with 100% reliability - I didn't test and farther than that.
Works great. Feb 23, 2012
By jeb Ordered the Insteon/X10 Wireless Sensor Receiver to convert over my Powerline X10 device/panel to more reliable Insteon messages. It worked well. I had invested in several devices that were X10 and could not upgrade them to Insteon; but I was only getting around 65% of my X10 codes making across the Powerline. So I needed something that I could easily convert each of these X10 commands to an Insteon command and send these to a responder (PLM with Misterhouse).
This product worked great and did what it was suppose to do. I'm not using the wireless component of this, just the Powerline for my use case.
Great product. Documentation could be a little better; and some how-to guides would have been helpful. It took me a while to figure out what I was suppose to do and getting the groups set up correctly. I had to download their software tool that you can use through the PLM interface to check the link table and make sure the mapping and settings for each group was setup correctly. Unfortunately, it only supports Windows, (I'm a Linux user) so I had to fire up another PC that have for these kinds of situations. There are some Windows Updates with .NET that needs to be installed for this software package to work.
Once it was configured I have not had any issues and it is working as advertised.
