Works great, better info needed on website Jul 14, 2011
By Handyman We needed a security light on our deck, but didn't want to add a wall switch inside the house. Also needed to be able to turn the light on and off manually if needed. What to do? Googled a little bit and found out about X-10 technology, which sends signals over your house wiring to control various devices, such as this floodlight. Ordered, along with a keyfob remote. Couldn't get the remote to work, until I called tech support and found out that another control unit is required - must be plugged in -- then you're OK. So I returned the original remote and bought a "starter set" which included remote and control unit at a discounted price. Worked perfectly.
My only complaint is that the description is not clear about the control unit. It would be better to tell people that this item is required for remote operation, rather than having them find out the hard way.
I'm pleased with the item -- it operates fine.

One of the best X10 products Dec 24, 2010

I have installed numerous X10 home automation products in my house but this is probably the best out of all of them. The motion sensor provides a lot of flexibility and is well made. The light fixture is made of metal and the motion sensor is weather sealed. This product is much better made than the Insteon alternative, which just combines a cheap plastic Zenith motion detector with their In-LineLink module. In my case, the In-LineLink module doesn't fit in the electrical box. I had decided to move to Insteon due to problems I have had with other X10 modules when the lens on my motion detector got damaged and it was constantly being set off. That was a mistake.
You can configure the motion and light sensitivity as well as the timeout and you can set up to 4 devices to send notifications to for motion and dusk/dawn.

Motion Flood with lots of options Feb 10, 2009
By Ken22 I like this unit because it has lots of controls and settings that make it easier to configure for your exact situation. This is a great unit to have if you are using X10 for other things. It would not be bad just on its own.
I only wish that there was an option to have the motion sensor work all of the time but the light work only at night.
Good - but expect to spend time adjusting Dec 18, 2011
By Reader Good product.
Expect to spend time up and down a stepladder adjusting the overall position of the unit, the sensitivity of the heat sensor, and the setting of the twilight sensor.
Follow the steps in the instructions precisely to temporarily shorten the reset time delay and adjust the two controls.
Couldn't figure out why one of mine was firing at apparently random times. Turned out it was detecting people on the neighbor's front walkway. Had to re-aim the unit and reduce the sensitivity control.
The other one is pointed into an area that is shady in the daytime. Took several tries to get the twilight adjustment control to not fire in the daytime.
Works fine with low-power-consumption CF floodlights.
Because the controls are upside down when it is installed, I stuck a label on the inside of the door that shows where the adjustments are located when you are looking up at the unit while standing on a ladder.

By Dale K. Denton A good product for the buck, works great with the x-10 lamp module or buzzer module to warn you of movement, have used one for over 20 years.
