The Remote Chime is designed to work with the X10 Pro Dual Floodlight Motion Detector (PHS01) to provide a pleasant annunciator chime when someone approaches. It can also be activated using the correct House Code and Unit Code from any X10 Pro controller, such as the Power Flash Interface (PSC01), or the (PHC01) Mini Controller.

Wimpy, too quite to be heard Jan 21, 2007

The older models of this unit (the one's with the "1 Watt" specification printed on the back of the case) were satisfactorily loud and could be heard two rooms away.

These newer units (with the 5 watt spec printed on the back) are so silent that they cannot be heard 30' away. They "plink" rather than chime. We have three of the older units that all work well. These latest batches are being returned to the merchant for refunds. I wouldn't bother with this product as it is being delivered today.
