Description:

The AGC Appliance Module incorporates an advanced X10 powerline circuit design which allows the module to operate in adverse environments.The principal advantages are greater sensitvity and better noise rejection. These modules are recommended for all installations where reliability of operation is paramount. The AGC Appliance Module is designed to control loads with the following ratings: Resistive load: 15A, Motor load: 1/3 HP, Incandescent load: 500W, TV/Stereo: 400W. This module is the three-pin grounded (PAM02) model.

This appliance module is perfect for controlling the remote pump on you fountain or other device outside your house so you don't have to go out and turn it on or off. A super solution of how to control that new item outside that you didn't run a switch for.

I just receive two PAM02 appliance modules. One works just fine, the other does not work at all. I have used X10 devices quite a bit and know their inherent problems. But this unit is BAD! It looked a little funny when It came out of the box because it was not set at address A1 like all others I have bought. This was set to some strange address. I suspect somebody found it was no good and put it back in the box and then it was sent to me. Well, I will have eat the cost because it is not worth my time to drive to the post office to hassle a mail-back. But, I will never buy from "Home Control's' again. Wasting my time costs me money.

Update: After complaining to the seller:'Home Controls', both 'Amazon' and 'Home Controls' sent me e-mail responses. 'Home Controls' immediately sent me a new unit which I received within a couple days. So, I have a little better feeling about the order and will upgrade my comment to 4 stars.

First attempt to install module failed because there was not enough information notifiying you that it need to be on the same 115v phase leg of a split 220v leg. Lucky I read reviews on product and saw the feedback from another reviewer. You can just install the module anywhere you want then move the remote transmitter/controller around til it works(same branch phase) or if you have the electrical equipment to trace it out.

I have a lot of X-10 modules and devices and had purchased this to replace some older units.
This unit is a good unit, but the X-10 technology still falls somewhat short due to issues with line noise and phase issues. I was hoping that the newer AGC (Auto Gain Control) would help with some of these issues, or at least help with the issue if it were related to line noise. Overall the unit is a solid unit and works as described.
